Blue starfish often get stranded in the rocks at low tide. We found several as we walked along Asan beach. This is another in my Found on Beach series.

Guam is a wonderful place to live and explore. I document my life and exploration here with a digital camera. And I shoot nearly every day.
What’s left of a leaf
The first tree we noticed on the way to the Sella Bay trailhead had been recently eaten by caterpillars (we think). It was worth stopping for an image.
Weather-beaten on the beach
The twisted bark of this tree on Tagachang Beach caught my attention immediately. There were but a few green leaves sprouting above its battered trunk.
An isolated young fern
Very few of these young ferns rise high enough above the others nearby to be isolated from their background. It seems this one just happened to make it.
Coral rock and sand
My Found on the Beach series continues! Subjects must be a stone's throw from the Pacific, exactly as I find them, with the Sony A77V and 50mm Minolta.
The Gygis alba
I only had a few minutes to walk around Hagåtña with the 500mm lens on Satuday. While I saw several other birds, I only captured this White (fairy) tern.
Maidenhair fern
In a dark jungle, just after sunset, the leaves of this Maidenhair fern seemed almost to glow. It was worth stopping to capture them on my way to the car.
New year reflections
On the last day of 2024, I visited my favorite grotto on the Fonte River. Rather than shooting the waterfall, I concentrated on reflections in the river.
Thin-shelled rock crab molt
These common crustaceans on Guam grow and shed their old shells. I have never seen a more perfectly intact molt, which I found at Asan beach recently.
