The first tree we noticed on the way to the Sella Bay trailhead had been recently eaten by caterpillars (we think). It was worth stopping for an image.

Very few of these young ferns rise high enough above the others nearby to be isolated from their background. It seems this one just happened to make it.

We don't spend a lot of time on the southern part of the island. Today we were hiking at Fouha Bay and stopped to take in the southern mountain views.

I found this trailing daisy wrapped tightly around a fallen tree in Umatac this afternoon. Their contrasting colors and textures quickly caught my attention.
