Summer collection of audiobooks

I read and study the Bible every day, which means I also read scripture-specific commentaries a few times a week. I’ve talked about my other daily reading before, which includes select articles from over 200 sources on Christian ministry, business, the economy, public policy, news, education, and more. I’ve collected around 600 links to those sources, which are saved on Raindrop.io for future reference. I work through these links on weekends to catch up with any daily posts I miss.

While I read tens-of-thousands of words every week from websites, blogs, and other digital sources, I still find it difficult to call myself a “reader.” Readers are people with big stacks of books, right? I have only small stacks – and many unread.

My alternative in recent years has become the audio book. I’m working my way through several at any given time. I discover their titles through digital reading or the occasional podcast recommendation. Most are in the business, history, or public policy categories. I have this group in my playlist for the summer of 2026.

I’m not endorsing any of these books. I haven’t finished most, which means I’m in no position to provide a recommendation either way. They are titles someone I trust has suggested I pick up, nothing more.

My most recent audiobook purchases are downloads I have saved (in mp3 format) on my own computer. I dislike business models that require I maintain an online account for the privilege of gaining access to materials I have purchased. The same goes for digital music purchases, which I always insist are downloadable.
