I had an early morning walk along the beach at Asan, finding this little guy (and many of his companions) just as the best light of the morning arrived.

My new favorite place
We've hiked in the Fonte River area for several years, only recently discovering these beautiful falls below the dam. There are rock walls on both sides.
Bright light and shadow
Photographing a sunset can be challenging. There's too much light in the background and very little in the foreground. So, we find interesting shadows.
Finally finding an image
I walked past this scene in the jungle many times before attempting an image. There is a lot of chaos in the frame, but I think the beauty is also obvious.
Injured Yellow bittern
This juvenile Yellow bittern had apparently fallen from the nest. He limped around in front of my telephoto lens a while before finding a place to hide.
Malvastrum coromandelianum
I searched for the name of this flower for several days. There were hundreds along the trail to Pågat Cave one day and almost none two days later.
Pågat natural rock arch
This was our first time at this location and the visit didn't last long. Dark clouds lingered just outside the frame and soon released heavy rain on us.
A minimal afternoon seascape
A strange half-circle of light and clouds appeared in the distance at Apaca Point. It left a faint glow on the bay during an otherwise dreary afternoon.
The glowing jungle canopy
When photographing in the jungle, especially in harsh daylight, always look up. The glowing canopy provides color, shape, and texture. Don't miss it!
